Education/ADHD
GOASKMOM.COM My very first website was www.goaskmom.com. I initially intended for it to be a parenting site, but I realized very quickly that most of my parenting was filtered through the lens of ADHD Inattentive, since three of our four sons have the Inattentive type of ADHD. I named the site, for reasons you must imagine, “Who Put the Ketchup in the Medicine Cabinet?” It offers “a humorous and informative look into life with ADHD Inattentive”. The site has a weekly newsletter and a great bunch of subscribers. I’ve recently replaced it with a new site – www.adhd-inattentive.com - and have sold Goaskmom.com.
The PAC-kit – My first educational product was the PAC-kit, a Planner, Agenda, and Calendar that we developed to use with our guys. The PAC-kit is designed to help a child come home with all homework written down correctly – with all the books and materials necessary to complete the assignments. Parents of ADHD kids will know exactly why this is needed!
Waking Up from the Homework Nightmare – It took a really long time for me to accept and deal with the fact that my boys would never do their homework like the girl next door. After struggling for years, we came up with some things that really worked with our boys. This guide takes a parent through a night of homework assignments – from math to spelling to reading to that ‘stupid’ book report – giving hints and strategies to help parents help their kids learn.
Focus, Pocus – 100 Ways to Help Your Child Pay Attention – Our oldest son is in college, and he posted “Focus, Pocus” this as his Facebook status one day last Spring. He still struggles to focus, but over the years, we’ve come up with lots of strategies to help kids pay attention. Focus Pocus is our practical, down to earth list of ways for parents and teachers help children with focusing issues. This book has received rave reviews from parents. And through the years, the hints in it have helped that college boy so much that he will graduate this Spring!
Coming Soon. This summer, I’ll be releasing a guide about parenting teens. Stay tuned!
